Phnom Penh, March 9th, 2023 —

Set out from Siem Reap on a guided tour of the Angkor Wat complex of temples. Explore the magnificent structures of the Khmer civilisation, such as Angkor Wat, the southern gate of Angkor Thom, the Bayron Temple, and the Terrace of Elephants.

Begin with early-morning pickup from Siem Reap. Take a car or Tuk Tuk to the complex and spend the day exploring the magnificent Angkor temples.

See the renowned Angkor Wat, the largest sacrificial structure in the world and a masterpiece of architecture. The temple, which took 30 years to build in the 12th century, is a prime example of Khmer civilization.

See the fortified city of Angkor Thom and its southern gate, which is flanked by a row of 54 stone statues.

Explore the Bayon Temple and the more than 200 huge faces that are carved into its exquisitely sculpted central towers. The well-known Terrace of the Leper King and the Terrace of the Elephants should be passed by.

Go out to view the jungle-enshrouded Ta Prohm, one of Angkor’s most atmospheric temples, after lunch and a relaxation period. Ta Prohm, which once housed 2,740 monks, still resembles the decaying site that French explorer Henri Mouhot uncovered in the early 1850s.

You will be left off at your accommodation in the middle of the afternoon after touring Ta Prohm’s confusing interior.
