Alcohol banned from Bahrain hotels

The Culture Ministry in Bahrain is introducing a ban on alcohol in the country’s three-star hotels in an attempt to improve tourism in the country, it has been reported.

According to Daily Tribune, the ministry issued a statement on Friday saying that the decision had been taken because the poor quality of rooms and clients services in the hotels was adversely affecting the country’s reputation.

“The income of these hotels mainly depend on facilities and not the rooms,traffic-in-bahrain-372330 which constitute only 23% of their profits,” said the statement, according to the newspaper.

The ministry has also prohibited presenting Arabian and foreign art shows and recruiting artists belonging to both the genders at three-star hotels.
