The APSARA National Authority has arranged a visiting circuit for tourists at Takeo Temple to ensure the promotion of heritage value, the maintenance of public order, get a good experience and all kinds of scenery, and avoid any congestion for tourists when visiting the temple, the authority said in a news release on Wednesday.

Ms. Chamroeun Vinea, Technical Officer of the Department of Tourism Development and Culture, said that her working team has organised the visiting circuit of Takeo Temple by improving the environment around the temple and cutting some tree branches to make a walkway. The temple has directional signs and information boards on the history of the temple so that tourists can find out for themselves.

Ms. Vinea continued that this visiting circuit arrangement provides many benefits to tourists, as it will bring tourists to visit all corners of the temple, as well as be able to capture beautiful pictures of the temple. Before arriving at the temple, tourists walk under the cool shade of trees, which is a feature of Takeo.

The above proposal has been submitted to ICC-Angkor experts and heads of the APSARA National Authority to review and evaluate the approval before proceeding, she added.

Besides, the APSARA National Authority re-appealed to all national and international tourists to respect the Angkor Code of Conduct and other signs in the temples to ensure safety and dignity, and to enhance the value of Angkor World Heritage Site.
