The 32nd SEA Games hosted successfully by Cambodia will be a meaningful memory for the Cambodian people and participating ASEAN sports delegates and athletes.

The note was underlined by H.E. Thong Khon, Minister of Tourism and President of Southeast Asian Games Federation Council, in the closing ceremony of the 32nd SEA Games held under the presidency of Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen and his spouse Samdech Kittiprittpundit Bun Rany Hun Sen at Morodok Techo National Stadium in Phnom Penh on May 17.

Cambodia has been congratulated and appreciated for its warm hospitality and high standard organisation of the SEA Games 2023 with amazing spectacle in the opening-closing ceremony of the event.

Cambodia is the first host country of the SEA Games offering free entry for all spectators, free accommodation and food for sports delegates, and free broadcasting rights for media partners, said H.E. Thong Khon, adding that this reaffirms the Kingdom’s commitment to hosting the sports to further boost regional unity and friendship.

H.E. Thong Khon praised all athletes for their participation and sportsmanship, stressing that they did not only represent their countries, but also demonstrated the value of excellence, friendship and solidarity in the ASEAN family.

He thanked the Royal Government of Cambodia for hosting the games, the Cambodian athletes for their hard work and wining of medals for the nation, and volunteers for the effort in coordination and guiding the participating sports delegates and athletes.

More than 10,000 athletes, coaches, arbitrators, and delegates from the ten ASEAN countries and Timor-Leste joined the games taking place from May 5 to 17 in Phnom Penh and the provinces of Siem Reap, Kampot, Kep and Preah Sihanouk. Article in Khmer by Heng Nalin Article in English by Lim Nary
