Full Day Rabbit Island or Koh Tonsay Tour
Kep is a small fishing village that, during colonial times was a retreat for the French elite living in Phnom Penh. Some of its colonial villas have recently been renovated into boutique accommodation as they once did for the visiting French colonials. Today is free at leisure to enjoy the secluded white sandy beaches at Koh Tonsai, also called, Rabbit Island, which is just a short boat transfer away from your hotel. There are also excellent short walks in the Kep area that wind through the hills with outstanding views of the Gulf of Thailand.
Full Day Ghost Town and Kampot Tour
Discover an erstwhile summer residence of French colonial settlers. Set out from you hotel in the morning and travel to the Old Hill Station in your private vehicle. Located on Bokor Mountain, this resort town was built as an escape from the bustle of Phnom Penh. Discover the history of the opulent Bokor Palace Hotel, learn about the mysterious Catholic Church, and see homes left behind by the French elite. Popularly known as ‘Ghost Town’, Bokor Hill was abandoned during the Indochina War, when the Khmer Rouge set up their stronghold within the walls of the church. Today, the town offers fascinating insights into Cambodia’s history, although it receives few visitors. In the afternoon, make your way back to Kampot where French colonial architecture and the glorious old cinema from Cambodia’s yesteryears await.
