Qatar Airways ups Saudi commitment with new Madinah flight

As a further demonstration of its commitment to expanding its footprint in Saudi Arabia, Qatar Airways will be launching an additional daily flight to Madinah from October 26th, 2014.

The additional flight will increase the number of Qatar Airways’ weekly flights on the Doha – Madinah route from seven to 14 weekly services.

Qatar-Airways-250x167 (1)Qatar Airways has been continuing its expansion to Saudi Arabia since it began in 1997 with non-stop flights to Jeddah.

Since then the airline has added Dammam, Riyadh, Madinah Gassim, Ta’if and Al Hofuf to its portfolio of destinations in the kingdom.

Ever-increasing passenger demand prompted Qatar Airways to increase its flights to Madinah from five per week to daily flights in April this year.

And the introduction of an extra daily service from October 26th is further proof of the expanding consumer and business demand on this popular route.

Qatar Airways currently operates 79 weekly flights to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia which will rise to 86 flights per week with the introduction of the additional flights to Madinah.

“We have been steadily growing our presence and services to Saudi Arabia,” said Qatar Airways chief executive Akbar Al Baker.

“The additional daily flight to Madinah will now bring additional connectivity for passengers connecting from Asia, the Middle East and other GCC countries.

“From Madinah, passengers will be able to travel seamlessly through our Doha hub to popular cities such as London, Paris, Bangkok, Hong Kong, New York and Washington.”

The new additional flights will be operated with an Airbus A320 in a two-class configuration, with 12 seats in First Class and 132 in Economy Class.
