Detailed Day Wise Itinerary
Day 1 – SIEM REAP ANGKOR TOUR
Upon arrival in Siem Reap, pick up by our local tour guide from the airport and transfer to check in hotel. This afternoon, we visit the “Les Artisans d’Angkor – Chantiers Ecole” the Finest Authentic Khmer Arts and Crafts. End our visits at one of the city’s lively open markets, Psar Chars, also called the “Old Market”, where anything and everything is for sale. Overnight in Siem Reap.
Day 2 – SIEM REAP ANGKOR TOUR
breakfast in the hotel. The last capital of the Angkorian Empire, South Gate of Angkor Thom, also known as Great Angkor, is a 3 km2 walled and moated royal city that we explore this morning. Due to the famed Bayon Temple’s lengthy, rather fragmentary construction process, it had a muddled architectural design. In front of Baphuon, a massive temple mountain in the center of Angkor Thom, the Royal Palace District, and Phimeanakas, an amazing granite and sandstone pyramid, lies the Terrace of the Elephants, an astonishing two and a half meter tall, 300 meter long terrace wall. The Terrace of the Leper King, a double terrace wall with intricately carved nagas, devils, and other mythological entities, is located at the northern end of the Terrace of the Elephants. The ancient temple of Angkor Wat in Cambodia is one of the marvels of the eastern world, and we visit it this afternoon. Its magnificent remains, which are masterpieces of architectural style and decorative embellishments, stand as a witness to the amazing accomplishments of Southeast Asia’s finest civilization. Hindu mythology claims that it is a copy of the universe. It is made up of Mount Meru, which is encircled by continents and oceans. Its remarkable bas-reliefs depict some stories and epics from the Khmer culture. The five well-known towers of Angkor Wat climb into the sky in a geometrical layout of various galleries that are embellished with religious symbols, stone statues of celestial Apsara dancers, entrances, rooms, and courtyards. Day 3 – SIEM REAP-ANGKOR TOUR
breakfast in the hotel. We visit additional Little Circuit highlights this morning. Discover the Ta Prohm temple, a remarkable example of how human ingenuity and the natural world can coexist! Here, enormous trees have existed for generations! Rather having a ruler, noblemen built Prasat Kravan at first. Sandstone was used to construct Banteay Kdei, although it has suffered greatly. There are still some stunning lintels and pediments, though. The King bathed in Srah Srang, a royal pond, every day with the help of a large number of concubines. King Suryavarman I ordered the construction of Takeo in the 10th century, but it was never finished and lacks the rich embellishment of its contemporaries. Shiva is honored by this five-level pyramid. Thommanon is a modest, charming temple that was constructed at the same time as Angkor Wat and is in excellent shape. In the second half of the 12th century, Chau Say Tevoda was constructed across from Thommanon and was dedicated to Shiva and Vishnu.
We travel by land this afternoon to see the Grand Circuit’s highlights. Preah Khan, which translates to “The Holy Sword” and was also constructed by Jayawarman VII, is renowned for its extraordinarily long cruciform hallways and beautiful sculptures. A delicate high point of Khmer art is Neak Pean. This temple, which was constructed by Jayavarman VII, is the ideal illustration of the heavens on earth. Ta Som was a modest monastic complex in the traditional Bayon form, consisting of a relatively level enclosure. Rajendravarman constructed East Mebon in the tenth century; this temple was located on a small island in the Oriental, or Eastern Baray. Lastly, enjoy the sunset at Pre Rup, which Rajendravarman erected in the tenth century. Spend the night at Seam Reap.
Day 4 – SIEM REAP DEPARTURE
Have breakfast at hotel and check out. Free until time transfer to airport for departure flight.
